Sarah Steeves offers private and
group cello lessons to students of nearly every age and ability.
As a registered Suzuki cello
instructor, Sarah teaches students from the age of three and up. Many of her
students begin cello lessons while in Junior or Senior Kindergarten. These
students usually follow the Suzuki method, introducing more traditional conservatory
practices as they advance. Depending on the needs of the individual student,
various other methods (including Barenreiter's Sassmanshaus method) and
supplementary material will be included.
Sarah also works with adult students
looking to further their musical knowledge.
With all students, Sarah emphasizes the importance of beautiful sound,
musical expression, and the posture necessary to maintain a healthy physical
relationship with the cello.
Her studio is located in the
Runnymede-Bloor West Village neighbourhood.
Weekly lessons will be 30 to 60
minutes in length scheduled for 32 weeks between September and June. A studio
recital will be organized for the spring.
Sarah is a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas
as well as the Suzuki Association of Ontario.
